When do I need to update my qualifications?

We're talking Refresher Courses!

We're going make this really straight forward for you.

First of all what is a Refresher course? The purpose of a refresher course is to update your knowledge of any changes to your current qualifications. This could include industry changes, laws and legislation, new skills and methods or ways of improving performance. Keeping you up to date and at the top of your game.

When it comes to Arboriculture, it is suggested that we refresh our qualifications every five years if you are actively using your skills on a daily basis, and every three years if you are only using them every now and again. Here we're talking about the climbing and chainsaw tickets. Some insurance companies require you to have refreshers every 3 years.

First Aid at work is a different game, this will have an expiry date on your certificate and will show you when you need to get it updated.

If you are self employed, it is your responsibility to keep yourself refreshed when it comes to your qualifications. If you are employed, it's your employer who invests in you by putting you through refresher courses.

This is also a good opportunity to think where you would like to grow professionally and widen your skill set. Think about other areas of arboriculture that may interest you, and look into courses.

We can help you to find trainers for both your First Aid and industry relevant qualifications. Just check the map feature on your app and find someone near you to get it done. Employers - you can book people to come to you so you get all your team done in one hit!

Hope this helps.
